...probably due to my short arms and fat gut. Weren't they called 'The whispering giant' at one time because they were very very quiet for such a big guitar?

He was using what I can only describe as a fat guy guitar stand - a little stand to support his guitar on his lap, so that he could hold it in such a position that his rather large belly didn't inhibit his playing.

They were supposed to hold the guitar at the correct angle - bet they were actually designed for the more portly gentleman though!
