I was escorted from a shopping centre mall thing just outside Moscow a few years ago,
As my ginger hair and slightly grubby exterior meant that security had pegged as a gypo and probably a thief. It was not until I got my passport from my hostel that they would let me buy some groceries.
That was the same trip I was arrested an hour after I arrived in St Petersburg.
