broached a yacht in a cross-channel race in a force 8.45 mins before we cut the spinnaker free, got the boat upright and moving again. 45 minutes in heavy seas in the busiest shipping lane in the world in the pitch dark with a 10 ton yacht on its side and with the radar deflector smashed. Yes I did need new underwear, but the water washed the shit out of my boots so it was OK.
