Old cars are better value than new ones, even if you do have to sink a couple of grand into it for repairs.

You can't say this isn't a jolly nice car?

Pretty!

It's lovely
but it's usually preferable to have something other than drum brakes and cart suspension on a car that has an engine the size of a house.
(, Thu 17 Oct 2013, 11:08, Reply)
Not as much fun though

The engine might be the size of a house but the specific power output (HP/Litre) is pretty shit on Yank stuff
Unless they play about with forced induction etc.
(, Thu 17 Oct 2013, 11:11, Reply)
yeah, but specific power output isn't what old US cars are about, really

Yenko specifically had
disks installed. If I ever was lucky enough to get a low end Camaro I'd upgrade the brakes and struts first, and have modern wishbones put in before I worried about upgrading the engine.

I did not know that.
I love the look of Camaros. The Chevy dealer near me has one of the new SS droptops in. Totally would, if it wasn't utterly impractical for the UK and rudely expensive.

That'd make a lovely car.
I just hop you'd never have to drive through any old villages. Or back roads.
(, Thu 17 Oct 2013, 11:27, Reply)
I totally agree.
It would be utterly useless on a British country lane :D Most of them are about as wide as my Micra, let alone a muscle boat.

I saw a camaro that had been in an accident.
Looked like it was made out of tin foil.
They weigh a ton, but fall apart like b3tan marriages.

Doubt you'd find many cars from the late 60s/early 70s
that are particularly safe.
(, Thu 17 Oct 2013, 11:53, Reply)
as true as that is,
it looked a mess.
(, Thu 17 Oct 2013, 12:02, Reply)
It's a very attractive car.
It's also leaf sprung, hugely thirsty without any HP and nigh-on useless on anything other than a dead straight desert highway.
