I couldn't possibly condone drinking

What about eating though.
Booze is an optional part of a pub visit.

Depends on the food
Good pub grub is a joy, pretentious 'Gastropub' stuff is generally overpriced wank
(, Wed 4 Dec 2013, 19:53, Reply)
yeah this definately
It was much better when you could get a pint of mild and a basket of scampi for 2 and 6

oh nakers
You have to remember that Placid here is an exceptionally dull man with exceptionally prosaic tastes in everything.

I weep for him dozer, weep

I find his cultural ignorance to be breathtaking in its vast and magisterial sweep.

I like some gastro stuff
I would recommend the Red lion at Hunningham - good food with no mention of 'nestling', 'Jus' or 'blanketing'
(, Wed 4 Dec 2013, 20:01, Reply)
I don't care.

Pub grub.
I'm starting to think I might not bother though, there is football on television this evening and the Christmas meal season is more or less here, meaning a pub with a lot of novices in it.

Go on!
If the Pub grub is that good - do it! You don't have to have some Turkey-based cook/chill crap. I would suggest a pork-based meal, preferably belly.
(, Wed 4 Dec 2013, 19:59, Reply)
It isn't that good.
