I had an old M 50mm lens on my Dad's old ME that still fit and the colours were leagues above the kit lens on the K30, so I got a 28mm, a 135mm and a 35-70mm zoom from the same series.

any headline that says 'stunning picture of...' is likely to be an average picture of something which is fairly interesting, or they've just used HDR on it or fucked with the curves in photoshop - *yawn* whatever

His portraits are stunning. That's one thing I can't do, though - I like to take pictures of 'things'. I don't know if that's to do with innate lack of skill, or just because I haven't learned the right techniques.

it's about looking at the world differently, about imagination and artistry and things. Also, practise - I remember you did that photo a day thing and you were getting much better

I've got a couple of the missus that I'm pretty happy with. Shallow depth of field, nice lighting etc.
It helps that she's not a pig, of course.
