Just spoke to the estate agent
and all the paperwork's come back fine, so we are officially Moving In tomorrow. Well, neither of us are actually moving in tomorrow, just picking up the keys and I'm paying the deposit today (£1372, ouch).

It's official, then. Maladicta and Mr Maladicta (eventually) are moving to Ashford.

Hurrah!
How's the ankle today? Been to the doctor yet?

Thanks :) the problem now is still that Mr Maladicta may well have no job in a couple of weeks, so it's going to fall to me to pay the rent and while I can just about do it on my salary, money will be seriously tight for some time and I'm actually pretty scared.

Me too - need to organise a man with a van from somewhere, or else Mr Maladicta's dad.

@ wookiee
The ankle is still painful :( a bit swollen but not as badly as it was yesterday. I'm off to the doctor in a bit and have Teh Fear.

money money money
You will be surprised how well you can do on very little when forced to do so! My number one tip is plan all your meals, make them from scratch where possible and write a list and stick to it when shopping. Buy value stuff wherever possible and that way you will have enough left over for a bottle of wine as a treat :)

mrs vipros and I have been planning our meals ahead for some time now and I love to cook, so do it from scratch as a matter of course. it's rare that we spend more than £30-35 on food in a week.

and yet we still eat like kings

value swan neck and larks tongue FTW!
