Glenfiddich's dishwater then, is it?
I assumed that, like wine, supermarkets don't carry terribly good stock.

it's just dull
No depth to the flavour and not a pleasant finish. Supermarkets are ok for whisky, most stock balvenie and auchentoshan, but your best bet is a specialist off licence. There's one in Leeds called Latitude which is pretty good.
