But why didn't the black-box-that-goes-off-on-immediate-contact-with-water go off?Also, wouldn't the systems have started screaming at ATC that the plane was way too low?

Wasn't under ATC at that point, plus transponders turned off, so no screaming possible.(, Thu 27 Mar 2014, 10:35, Reply)
Still sounds suspicious - it would have had to have gone down very bloody quickly.(
