Last thing I read on it before I got bored with the whole thing
was that he used to hear things and think there was an intruder. He'd go marching around his flat with his pistol pointing it at tumble dryers etc.

However, I cannot reconcile the intruder theory. I simply cannot believe that anybody, thinking there was an intruder, would fire through a closed door before calling the police. The door was locked from the inside, all he had to do was call the rozzers. Instead he fired dour times through the door. It seems more likely to me, based entirely on supposition, that they had an argument, she lcoked herself in the bog and he shot her in a rage.

The weird thing about the plane is that NONE of the passengers managed to squeeze off a text or a call.
It went completely dark, after changing course 180 degrees, suddenly - which is very, very weird.

I think it was shot down - either by accident or deliberately, and no one wants to admit it.

For me it all points to a deliberate act, turning off the transponders and having the plane "vanish" in the 10 mins dead time between two different countries air traffic controllers is too much to be a coincidence.

Assuming the autopilot's still active, it will attempt to maintain altitude and airspeed.
If all the control surfaces are still active, it certainly won't just drop like a brick. Without fuel it will attempt to maintain a controlled glide.

i would prefer to think that something happened and the pilots changed course, trying to head for an airport
but got overwhelmed by smoke or oxygen failure or something, as did the people on board. the plane then drifted on until it ran out of fuel. it's awful but better than pre-meditated killing of 238 other people.

but then why not send some sort of distress signal? why turn off the tracking instruments, unless you thought there was a fire in those circuits, maybe?

Why would anybody shoot down a plane that was flying over trackless ocean?
They turned towards the nearest airport, were overcome before they got there and the plane carried on with autopilot until it ran out of fuel and ditched.

They haven't been able to find it yet because they're relying on defence radar which is a secret and the sea moves. It moves quite a lot. By the time they've got a ship out to where they think they saw debris, it's moved.

Aviation, navigation, communication.
The pilot will have attempted to fly, find a safe landing area and then would have communicated his distress. That is the order in which pilots are trained to respond to a crisis. He could easily have been overcome by whatever happened before he got to communication.

There is a lot of stupid speculation around this crash.
