In your role as a conveyancer, does anyone ever give a fuck about the EPC?
And do you know roughly how much one should cost, and who I actually go to to get one?

i'm not a conveyancer
people care a lot about energy consumption and tax in the buildings i deal with, but they are mostly massive commercial units. and they are always fighting about who has to pay for what.

i'd ask your estate agent. they'll tell you and also know someone who does it locally.

you would come to me if they fucked it up and you needed to sue them for LOADSA MONEY.
