This is really bizarre
It's not at all structured for conversations, yet people use it as such anyway. If they really are gentle posters, they'll be accepted elsewhere anyway.

The difference between here and /talk
is that it tends to be quieter and less chaotic. Also that the posters tend to be less likely to rag on each other.
Many find it boring and far too quiet, while others prefer it this way.

I suppose it's no different from an IRC room really, only slower.
