Gone are the days of feudal systems and the British Raj, now it's all 9/11, Princess Diana and playing snake on a mobile. They don't even call it history anymore, it's all 'back in the day' or 'old school'

The local pub in my hometown
got demolished after it failed. Then the company that was supposed to build on it got in trouble for knocking down a listed bit. Now it's a field. I can now look at it and say 'I remember when all this was pub'.
