For your advice on the DSS, I qualify!
I signed-on for the first time in my entire life this morning. It wasn't as soul destroying as I thought it would be, getting soaked on the way home was...
Am now going to plan what to do with the magic sum of £60.50...whenever it arrives in my account

You should spend it on cheap alcohol, and see if you can be drunk for an entire week.
'til the next lot of money comes in.

..then you'll suddenly get about £200, then £120 every 2 weeks, following a "signing session" where you "prove" that you have been looking for jobs - this can be a formality or a right pain in the ass depending on who is overseeing it. I'm off to sign on myself.. should really have done so some time ago. Plus it might motivate me to actually look for a job. Once more into the breach..
I'll probably spend a lot of the money on booze and pot.

Does this mean that you don't have to sit and wait for you giro any more?
How long does the £60.50 have to last?

Yeah I worked out that it will be about 3 pints of Guinness a day in the cheapest (and nicest Guinness serving) pub near by! No food will be included in the budget, thankfully drinking Guinness means that I don't 'need' food.
Yep the money goes straight into your account -no queuing up for it - thank christ for technology! the £60.50 is for a week...
I have 13 (now 11) weeks to find a job in my chosen field, after that it is 'get a job' hopefully it wont come to that. Despite the diversions of B3ta I am sufficently bored and am looking for a job. Tragically so is half the country so it is not exactly going to plan - my last rejection was on Friday they said I was 'lovely but did not have enough experience'...great....
