I'm going to see Bond tomorrow night, but my local cinema is showing it on two screens at the same time, one is 'over 18s only'. It's a classed as a 12a in both and I've never heard of a cinema doing a cut version of a film, so can anyone explain this? I'm assuming there won't be any scenes with the bad guy where Bond threatens to cunt him in the fuck, so just wondered if anyone could explain this!

...that some adults wanted to see the film without annoying children about and the cinema saw the opportunity to grab a niche market.

some cinemas are trialling an over 18's screening policy for family films, so your enjoyment of said film is not marred by

Although I think it also means that they can license the auditorium.

That's awesome!! I hope this extends to Pixar's next venture, some little shitbucket almost ruined Wall-E for me.

It's a fantastic way of avoiding those bastard children.
All they need to do now is ban popcorn and idiots, and I'll not get the Red Mist every time I go to see a film.

Thanks for that Kaol, I feel slightly less apprehensive now. I was in two minds anyway as the long-ass cinema trailers just made it look dull. I loved Casino Royale and so was expecting Quantum to live up to it in no way whatsoever. However, I did then see a TV trailer that made it look watchable, thus confusing me even more.
It doesn't really matter though because it's Bond. I'm obviously going to see it even if the trailer just showed him repeatedly stapling bunnies to kittens.

Tonight is normally "Film Night", as it's Cheapo Tuesday at the cinema, but there's nothing on that I want to see.
Ah well, my next review will be Max Payne, next Tuesday.

about this on Radio 4 the other night.
It was hilarious hearing him trying to avoid saying that the reason people want over 18 screenings is so they don't have to put up with children texting and talking through the film.
I have to say that I would rather go to an over 18 screening.
