I know the Baby P thing has already been discussed here,
but I'm still being invited to loads of groups and causes on Facebook about it. What can I reply to these people about it, without getting myself lynched?

Try and point out to them
That it's possible to be morally outraged without joining a sanctimonious, reactionary, jumped-up soapbox-bandwagon to publicly display your outrage a la The Daily Mail.

and live happy in the knowledge you haven't offended anyone.

Or, if you'd like to offend them, create a group called 'I don't care about Baby P' and invite all your friends. They'll soon get the message.
