They have to pay for infrastructure, I don't know who owns all the masts. Is it like railtrack, where one company owns the infrastructure, and Orange/Vodafone/3 et al all rent bandwidth?

Then there's all the shops, marketing and call-centres.

I wonder how much it costs to handle a phone-call, or a pic message, or video calling. That must use a fair bit of bandwidth.
