Does anyone know of a UK based proxy that will let me use IPlayer?
IPlayer blocks me as I don't have a UK based IP address.
Alternatively, can one of the techies around here setup a proxy on their broadband connection that I could use?
Cheers

With F1 moving channels from ITV to the BBC, plenty of people want to get live F1 streaming with iPlayer.
Good luck!

don't expect incredible streaming performance though

TOR and no joy. I can't control where the final IP address ends up.
Tried a bunch of UK based proxies but the beeb seem to have a list of them and still blocks me.

I spent a good few days trying various proxies etc with little joy. The bbc have most common proxy providers blocked, and the few that I found that did work only lasted a matter of hours before going down too. Usually they slowed the streaming down so much it became unwatchable too.
Someone on another forum I use posted up this site....
www.iprivacytools.com/
which he says works a treat. Its not free though, costs $17.
The original thread was in March and he reckoned it worked perfectly. I have no idea if anything has changed since then. I havent tried it myself as Im too tight to pay up for something that might be rubbish.
If you do give it a go, let me know how you get on please?

instead. Most of the shows I've wanted to see in the past have been uploaded.

I used this when i was in the US. The customer service is shit, in fact the whole org is a bloke called Jan and its a tenner a month, but the service works. It terminates in the UK. Well at least it did for me, and it worked. Gaz me if you want to know more. There would be nothing to stop the BBC blocking their IP's though.
The BBC are pretty shit hot at blocking. I'm in manchester now, and last week they blocked me as I was coming from a foreigny IP. I checked, and sure enough my IP was showing as dutch. I released/renewed and it changed.
