As I caught Charlie Brooker using it last night. He also used the term "epic fail".
I think he may be a closet internet g33k....

Made a good career from taking the piss out of TV generally.
www.tvgohome.com/ - very old but still rather good.
Wouldn't be surprised if he was a B3tard.

Because /board has a limited number of places on the first page, they frown on making unnecessary threads that push work off of the front page too quickly- hence the creation of /talk. They started calling people twunts because it was a contraction of "thread wasting cunt".
Looks like you've spotted one of our lurkers.

I thought it was a contraction of the words "twat" and "cunt"...I might be wrong though.

But I'll go with the "Thread wasting cunt" abbreviation.
Do you think that in 100 years time, when a future incarnation of QI is being shown, the origins of the word "twunt" will be divulged?

What I read somewhere sometime agrees with the Empress but I may be wrong...
So err... Which one of you is Charlie Brooker?

that Empress is correct, but my memory is from about six years ago or so of a discussion on /board. Then again, my memory might be faulty...
Unfortunately glassco.cx is gone, and you can't search /board in order of old posts first anymore.

but long after I started coming here.
Dennis Leary used it in "Rescue Me", giving the "twat/cunt" abbreviation explanation.

apparently twunt was in usage 10 years ago. It's not a b3ta thing.
