OK, OK, I'm taking the piss.
And this wasn't penned as an insult or criticism - I'm playing devils advocate in a forum known for its lively debate.

Maybe, just maybe, Bert and oneinthepink have a point.

I'm not saying we should all start posting filth and talking about felching and donkey-fisting... but when did banal, personal posts like mine above become acceptable round here?

I think long and hard before starting a new thread here in Off Topic. If I think it's trite and pointless, I don't post them. I like to think that I'd garner 15-20+ interesting, amusing or helpful responses, else I feel like I failed.

My opinion is, if you want to post something like that, pop it in the Home Sweet Home thread. You'll probably get a better response than posting it as a new thread, and you'll meet some cracking people while you're there.

Again, I'm not trying to dictate what goes on around here, not bigging myself up etc. I'd just like to see what your thoughts are.
