and therefore did not require a question mark. She said "I would like to know the reason why JMG
thinks he is the people's hero of b3ta. I'd like to see proof tantamount to this."

Which is strictly speaking a pure statement, but the way it was phrased implies an open question to which she would obviously like a reply.

Sadly I fear it is you who must up their banter. 3/10 could do better.
