I'm kinda reeling here.
I got a call this afternoon from a former girlfriend. Apparently she went into the hospital for some surgery on her foot, and now she's having congestive heart failure. She called me because she's not expected to make it and she wanted to talk to me while she could.

She lives a pretty long distance from here. Going to visit will require a full day at the very least.

She's just a little over 40 years old. She's too fucking young for this. For that matter, I'm too young to lose a former lover in this way. It's giving me the jibblies.

God. One girlfriend in the asylum (and back out again) and another headed for the grave...

go to her and talk to her.
be with her whilst you and her can do so.

when it is gone then it is gone.

i lost my best friend nearly 2 years ago, he was 41 yoa, he and i were never lovers but we shared so very much. i think we shared more than most friends, more than most lovers.
we are only here the once and so very briefly.
grasp it with both hands.
it is better to regret something you have done than something you have not done.
