Update on spazness.
Well, I went to the surgeon yesterday and I need 2 operations on my wrist, to be done at the same time. A total of 5 3 inch cuts, 2 tendon resections to get spare tendon to fix wrist with, holes bored through bones, wired and pinned, part cast for 4 weeks, full cast for 6 weeks then 3 to 6 months of intensive physio with a specialist. Fuck me I do a good job.

How the fuck...
...did you break that lot?

Wow
That's quite some accident! I hope you'll keep a tighter grip next time.

Did they treat your black eye too?

;-)

See,
this is why I drive rather than take the bus!

How?
My wrist was injured when I fell over running for a bus. All 16 stone landed on the one wrist. Split the scaphoid and mangled most of the ligaments. It was 06:30 though so no-one saw.
Except the bus driver.
He laughed cos it wasn't the bus I wanted (he wasn't in service). Damned Jedi bus drivers.
FML.

Not your wanking hand I hope?

Nah
It's my left hand and I'm a righty. Unfortunately it means I can't change hands when I get tired.

Yup...
...I had to endure much of the same action when I fell off my bike at age 18 and smashed my elbow into about 8 bits more than it should have been. I still have the metal in a jar somewhere after they took it out. There's a fair bit of it.

I now have a 16-inch scar from halfway down my forearm to halfway to my shoulder and a fairly knobbly elbow to boot, but I still have most of the movement, thanks to the pysio.

That said, the physio was the worst part of it - twice a week for 9 months this tiny and admittedly quite sweet young blond girl used to cause me extreme pain - I've never feared anyone's thumbs so much before or since. The high point of that action though was one day when they clamped my upper arm and she and another physio bod were hanging backwards off of my forearm to stretch my traumatised muscles to get more degrees of movement out of them. Ow.

Physiotherapists...............
My sister's a Physio, only because she was thrown out of the Stasi for "unnecessary cruelty".
