Anyone going to any festivals this summer?
As it's May, windy and raining, quite obviously festival season has begun. I've just received my tickets for Bloodstock Open Air in august, but are any other B3tans doing any festivals this year?

Hawkfest
and Hawkfest alone. The only 'true' festival still going in my opinion.

Some friends are going to Bloodstock and Hellfest (France)
Festivals aren't really my thing, plus I'm having to spend a fortune on NIN/JA tickets, as the touts snapped them all up in the first minute :(

Hellfest does look pretty damn good this year.

I was meant to be going to Download this year, but I'm now going on holiday in the summer instead, which is using up my holidays from work.

It was after I realised I couldn't go that I noticed how few bands at Download I actually wanted to see, mostly it would have been a case of 'Why not? Let's give them a try!'

I'm not willing to pay £160 to do that.

It's why I don't go to many festivals, costs a fortune for maybe 3 decent bands.

I went to Download a few years ago with the ex, when Tool were headlining the Friday night. Lacuna Coil were also playing, and whilst I'm not a fan, my ex and I are friends with their tour manager, so got AAA passes.

Proper toilets, cold beer (cheaper than the punter vans), and an escape from the fierce sun!

Aye, I remember that one...
Weather was pretty damn bad.

2007 was the worst though, I had to take a friend to the ambulance bit, then carry all his stuff back to the car at the end. Kind of ruined the weekend for me. Well, that and dealing with a neurotic girlfriend, who 'passed out' because she hadn't taken her iron tablets that day (even though I've been assured by several medical professionals that it wouldn't affect her that quickly), then yelled at me for not waking her up when the others went for a rave, and I stayed with her.

Bitter? Nah *twitches*

Music this year isn't brilliant, it's been in decline since my first year. But atmosphere should be good, and I want to get off my tits.
