@Hair Pot - A decent runner should be able to do a marathon in under 4 hours. A friend of mine has run them in about 3 and a half.

You could walk a half marathon in 3h 52m.

Fair enough.
I wasn't sure what average time for a runner. It just sounded too fast - but if it isn't, I'll go with that.

That kind of sustained walking speed is mental. Most people average about two and a half miles an hour - I'm just over three mph and it's hard work.

Accomplished walkers could do a half marathon in that time. Experts in just under three hours.

I've just realised you mean just under 3.5mph
which isn't terribly quick, but I'd still defy anyone who hadn't trained to sustain that pace for that time :)
