It would be an absolute nightmare. EasyJet's systems don't work with the boarding system at Copenhagen, so if you check in online you get re-issued a boarding card at the gate. It always leads to a huge scrum of people fighting to get on... then when they call the speedy boarders, the look on people's faces as you just walk straight past them is great.
They'd need to get something sorted out for that size plane. People will still act like idiots first... it's not like rushing to get on the plane will make it leave any earlier, is it?

More haste, less speed.
Studies have shown that the best way to fill a plane is to start with each odd numbered window seat from rear to front, (you can stand in the even rows to let people past) then the even numbers, and then fill the middle and aisle seats in the same manner.
But can you imagine trying to get the general public to do this?
Not a bloody hope.
