Thanks
Always worth knowing.

I have certain - well, I'd call them predilictions but others might call them perversions - which would have taken me to LA Union tomorrow at 10.15 for the Coast Starlight to Emeryville - then boat or BART to SF.

OK - I'm a big Amtrak fan.

I'll be made redundant later this year and the only Amtrak routes I've not ridden are Heartland Flyer (Fort Worth-Oklahoma City) and Cascades (Everet-Seattle-Eugene) so that's my redundancy money planned.

I'll also be buying a wreath for Charles Wesley Everest. I need to do that. It's an obscure reference but someone will know why.

I've done the LA-Emeryville before
It's a fantastic trip but bloody long. And the 2 hours on the coach between Bakersfield and Fresno is a pain in the arse.

Shame you're not coming, we could have had a mini-b3ta bash!

I'm 6000 miles away.
Coast Starlight is the train that goes from LA to Seattle direct.

Fantastic.

Last time we did it I got off in Salinas and did a Steinbeck pilgramage. My mates carried on to LA.

Take time out and ride the Starlight. I'd do it every week if I could.

LA to Seattle by train
How long does that take, out of interest?

And how much does it cost?
