A couple of bouncers were contemplating calling an ambulence when they found me unconcious in a gutter. Unfortunately my girlfriend at the time arrived to collect me and take me home (It would've been a lot better for all involved if I'd been taken to hospital).
Oddly enough I woke up at 10am the next day completely sober and without a hangover.
Oh, might I add the whole escapade involved riding a bike beside a river between pubs (we visited 7, then 6 of them a second time on the way back) and for the last quarter of the journey I was carrying an iron garden chair on my back!
Apparently there were some interesting moments when we got back to our local...

that's um...
that's actually pretty hilarious - the garden chair bit at least!
why did you drink so much?

You have to drink at every pub, no soft drinks are allowed and the only time you can eat is at the final pub before turning around and coming back again.
As I feel really sick if I drink more than 4 pints in one go I decided to drink shots instead and as 2 shots is roughly equivalent to 1 pint I intended to drink 2 in each pub (hence 26 shots). Unfortunately as the day went on people were drinking slower and slower so I started to get bored in the pubs. At one point I wondered off for some cash, into a pub opposite an ex's house and had a double scotch in there, went back to everybody else then folded up a garden chair, put it through the straps of my rucksack and took it with me. This kind of extra drinking went on in most of the last few pubs.
I didn't fall off my bike until we were about 5 mins from our local which I'm amazed about considering I could barely walk!
It's been decided that somebody has to take up the "[Captain V] challenge" if we do it again this year. I might try it again myself if I can work out how to avoid drinking more than 2 shots per pub.
