Of course it isn't.
But I'll say it again:

Being a doctor and being a waitress are very different things. You, while taking an order, are not trying to work out if the person who's ordering it really wants a steak. A doctor, however, is trying to work out what is wrong with you via several lines of questioning and physical exams. To compare the two is weak argument.

Doctors do listen. You tar people with the same brush too easily.

If you aren't happy with your MEDICALLY TRAINED PROFESSIONAL, then see another doctor
it really is that simple.

this medically trained professional was not my usual medically trained professional.
My usual one is lovely and LISTENS - she doesn't ask me the same question twice or treat me like I'm some dumbass kid.
She respects her patients and knows what she's doing. This guy doesn't. Every single person who went into that room came out looking grumpy.

You went there for a cold or suspected infection, they dared to ask you questions and you threw a strop
you DO sound like a dumbass kid to me.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:35, Reply)
I never said I threw a strop?
Where did I say in my original or any other posts that I threw a strop? Rolling my eyes and saying "yes - I said that" does not equate I threw a strop.

You're basing that assessment of me over a couple of hours on b3ta.
You don't know me in person so you cannot judge me, you don't have the right - the same way I don't have the right to judge you.

Asking the same question three times is not smart under any circumstances. Not in my opinion. If you're all House like and jaded and cynical and think that everybody lies, whether they really want a steak or they really haven't been out of town because they've been drowning in study - then you're just going to end up pissing people off.

But your opinion doesn't carry much weight here
becuase you're not a trained doctor. So he wanted to be especially sure that he wasn't witnessing the first case of a new strain of flu in his area and he checked thoroughly to be sure.

Get.

Over.

Yourself.

/rolls eyes.
Okay, I will - when you do Al. When you get over yourself is when I'll get over myself. Take it or leave it.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:31, Reply)
I find myself in agreement with Al here
really, when a doctor wants to confirm that you are not in current contact, or have been with someone who is now infected, is that such a bad thing to claify it several times to be sure?
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:32, Reply)
When did I judge you?
But how many times does anyone have to say it? He. Was. Just. Doing. His. Job. You may not have liked it. You may have thought he was dumb because he kept affirming the information you gave him. But he did his job. I really wish I hadn't bought the waitress analogy in to this, because it doesn't work very well. However, the fact remains that the Doctor did his job to the best of his ability (viz. - he diagnosed you, and gave you a prescription), and then you come online and whine about it.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:39, Reply)
golly gosh, when it become not okay to have a laugh and a differing opinion to everybody else as to what is funny and what isn't?
You all thought I was whining - I wasn't, I thought it was funny and was only merely and briefly annoyed at him triple checking. I was more annoyed at the fact there was a 45 minute wait for a two minute consultation.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:51, Reply)
You better get used to that
If you're en route to the U.K.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 11:58, Reply)
I can get used to anything, and have done so before,
but it doesn't mean I'm not allowed to have a laugh does it?
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 12:00, Reply)
But this thread wasn't about you having a laugh though was it?
It was about you wanting to have a whine about the treatment you received at the doctors and wanting validation from strangers.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 12:02, Reply)
well I was having a laugh until everybody attacked me
and now I feel entitled to one - but I can't be fucked. this has gotten boring.
(, Thu 18 Jun 2009, 12:10, Reply)
It must just be the way that you tell 'em, then.
