What film did everyone you know rave about, but you find dull, borring and/or uninspiring?

For me, it's Lord of the Rings, there isn't much I would walk out from the pictures from, but that's one of them. Fuck doing 9 hours of it.

It's not that I don't like fantasy, it's more that I just didn't like _that_.

Lost in Translation.
Then again, I'm not boring or middle-aged.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:09, Reply)
Yup, I agree with you on that one.

(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:10, Reply)
Oi!
Any film where the first scene is a picture of Scarlett Johannsens pants = all of the win.

I'm with you there
one of the most boring films I've ever seen.

Take one of the great comedy actors and a hot woman. surely you can make a good film out of this.

no? ok then

The Big Lebowski.
Didn't laugh at all. Not once.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:10, Reply)
Are you trollin' ?

(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:11, Reply)
Nope.
Just didn't like it at all.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:11, Reply)
One of those films everyone loves,
but I thought was shit.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:12, Reply)
Oh, ok, fair enough, no offence or anything, but my opinion differs from yours.

(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:16, Reply)
Just forum banter?

(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:17, Reply)
I'ld take this one offline, should be we ever meet.... and you're wimper than me.
But yeah', for now, it's just forum banter.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:22, Reply)
I mean, when we meet and if it turns out you're wimpyer than me, rather than a statement saying you're whimpyer than me.

(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:23, Reply)
Hmmm...
I'm afraid that I'll tower over you, little man.
But it's ok.
Our shared love for Will Smith will build bridges.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:27, Reply)
That's good stuff, although I think Big Labowski is great, I would hate to have some sort of "physical comfrontation" over it.
Unless it's a sexy one, in which case, do you have a wig?
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:39, Reply)
I do.
And it'll make you feel like a Lay-dee.
*thumbs up*
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:41, Reply)
Thumb? You'll have to do better than that, if it dosn't tickle the colon, I'm not really interested.

(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 0:01, Reply)
Oh, and Forrest Gump.
It was a film about a retard. But somehow they'd killed the comedy aspect.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:11, Reply)
constantine
pan's labrynth

to be fair I've only seen a few minutes of each but they've given me absolutely no reason to watch any further
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:38, Reply)
I thought Pan's Labrynth was great.
I get spats where I like forrin' films.

City of God was great, if only relivent because it had words at the bottom.

Constantine was mmmkay, but not B.K.
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:40, Reply)
oh yeah, complete uninterested in ever watching it
also included in this category would be The Passion of the Christ, Armageddon, X Files, any movie ever made by the Sci Fi channel, and loads of others I simply cannot be bothered with thinking of
(, Wed 24 Jun 2009, 23:46, Reply)
Please don't kill me
Much sci-fi where the storyline and the timings and just - everything - are so weak (example: "The Core" - what a piece of total BS)

Also: Burn After Reading. Didn't get it. Yes, the characters are caricatures but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO hammed-up.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 7:51, Reply)
Titanic
Boring dross. I actually laughed at some of the more contrived slushy bits.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 8:51, Reply)
The Shawshank Redemption
O.K. it was alright but come on? Huge boring areas inbetween fairly predictable clichés. Decent film but should never be anywhere near a top 10 ever.

Also, does the E4 series "The In-betweeners" count? It seems to rip off jokes from more illustrious comedies and gets rubbish young actors to execute them. Badly.
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 9:01, Reply)
The same goes
for two pints. Doesn't even raise a smile, let alone any LOLage
(, Thu 25 Jun 2009, 9:14, Reply)
Ahha
I would've mentioned this but I just assumed that nobody thinks it's funny.
