Reversal of a normal question
On my travels on the old 'net thingy, I've noticed that quite a few people keep asking how to turn the Windows XP/Vista interface in to the OS X interface. I don't understand why they want to do this, the OS X interface is a pile of donkey shit. Pretty donkey shit, but still donkey shit. Actually, not that pretty either.

So, if Satan begins to order snow shovels and I do end up ever buying a fruit themed computational device, does anyone have a way to make OS X usable and make it look like XP? (without having to install Windows on the device!)

I no know :(
the internets seem to want you to make XP and Vista look like OS X, not the other way round.

My iTunes keeps playing Michael Jackson on random - flatmate thinks it has a virus.

Edit - your signature confuses me. What does it mean?

The sig?
It's from the ULLAdubULLA strings, the string section of the band which does War of the Worlds live (as a part of my new obsession).

Now I understand :) at the moment I think I'm hooked on Two Pints
and remembering why I love Queen a big huggy bunch.

Live, you say? Never heard of it being done live. I just remember a post on the Phobias QOTW about the Jeff Wayne CD saying "No grown man should be afraid of a David Essex record".

*pounces* Elfen Lied finished yet? I need to nyuu at you.

Well, it's the Jeff Wayne recordings perfromed live
Conducted by Jeff Wayne. No David Essex though - it's the worst part of it. The guy they have doing the Artilleryman is much, much better.

Elfen has not yet finished, and I doubt will be today. Nyuu as you wish.

David Essex
is pretty terrifying, I must say. I'd like to say it doesn't make me want to wee myself in fear but, so as flatmate had to watch all his gory DVDs on his own (Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses, Machine Girl, etc), so may you have to watch WotW on your own.

That surprises me; M says he downloaded it quite easily, and it's incredibly popular so I'm surprised no one's seeding it. Wishing I hadn't deleted it now when I got the DVDs! Dubbed or subbed?

Nyuuuuuuuuuu*breath*uuuuuu!

No idea if it's dub or sub
I think it might be both from reading the comments, and you can choose. I would much prefer subbed. The main problem is not the number of seeds - it's that I have a slow internet conneciton and it's about 8gb for the version I'm getting!

I'll send you a version without David Essex - it really is much, much better.

I imagine it's sub - it's much better that way
although "nyuuuuuuu" is a pretty much universal word! Our internet connection is pretty poor at the moment too - flatmate has taken to playing PS3 games online and when I'm on the PC at the same time it decimates both our speeds :(

When can I expect to received said version? ;)
(, Sun 28 Jun 2009, 15:51, Reply)
As soon as you get on MSN
I'm ripping it off the DVD now - about 15 minutes should do it.

Ah crap. That won't be till tomorrow evening then :(
Have missed hopping on MSN to talk to you of an evening even if it has been nice to have flatmate home.

Also, this cannot wait for gaz - please please please please please buy the frock coat. I will love you long time for ever.

I'll see if I can get the file small enough to e-mail
I will think about the coat. Depends. Partly on how much money I have!
Besides, it is technically a womans coat...

I now want the entire contents of the website, especially the pinstripey corset jacket and matching skirt.
Think I could wear that to work?

If you can compress it to a size that won't make Hotmail have a shit-fit, I'll be glad to receive it. Failing that I'll give you my gmail :)

I insist you seriously consider the coat. Don't make me use the voice. I have a bit of a thing about frock coats since seeing Van Helsing, so I'm going to insist!

No one needs to know it's a woman's coat - I wear one of flatmate's coats from time to time :)

Edit - this has just made me think of Blackadder - this is a woman's hand!

yes
shapeshifter for osx combined with the OSXP theme, comes with icons and wallpapers. for osx panther i also made an XP boot screen and login panel, but they don't work with leopard.

the reasoning is not because either operating system is better, it's either because of a personal preference, or in my case pure contrariness. after all, if you like osx that much, use it. don't make a PC look like it cos they don't work in the same way.

i have always used macs, so that's where i'm comfortable, but i use PC's at work. I have never liked how osx looks, so I've always used shafeshifter or similar to customise it.

I'm with you on that reasoning
My preference has always been for Windows on a PC. I was brought up on a diet of both Windows 3.1 and 95, and whatever Apple had out at that time - I ended up preferring Windows and always have, even though apple have made some pretty big changes. I've always made Vista and XP look like Windows 95 because it's the look I prefer, and I work better with it.

Thanks for the info - been wondering for a while now if the combination of OSX behind the XP interface would make an even easier (for me) to use computer.

nah, probably not, as a lot of shortcuts that you have as second nature will not work
with Macs being intel based these days you can 'dual-boot' and have effectively two machines in one, so if you were suddenly rather flush and wanted to experiment, it could be something to investigate.

I got a Hackintosh on my Dell....
... and for the life of me, I can't get on with it, nothing feels 'right' to me, I need the taskbar.

I wish they produced X-Code for Windows, I've got an app I really want to develop =(((
