Because, for all that the Scots harp on about us oppressing them, if you take the time to trace the lineage of the royal family, right back from the first Saxon kings, it eventually becomes apparent that Brenda (Her Maj) is not actually all that German. By blood, the British royal family are more Scottish than they are any other nationality.
