Ok, they were an acceptable size and were affordable
but back then you had to pass a test to prove that you could drive the internet without crashing the whole thing, if you failed the test more than twice you were banished to Wales where you could do no harm as they have no form of mass communication...FACT

I had an internet capable
computer for my 21 birthday.

That was 1996, FACT.

The internet was all fields then. The only two UK online shops were Thorntons and Vicky Wines. I had a 14.4 modem and I had to phone direct into the server in Manchester. Sometimes it was too busy to I had to phone Birmingham.
