It's not reallyThe solution is the calculation that arrises from the bearing, speed, distance etc of the contact.
The process is sometimes called 'stacking the dots'

GotchaA "solution" seems a mouthful when fighter pilots use the term "lock-on" for exactly the same thing.

Contacts are assigned callsigns normally Sierra 001, Sierra 002 etc(
