Question!
I am known by a shortened version of my middle name (e.g. 'Ho' rather than 'Crack House'). I received a cheque made out to that name. The bank - Nationwide - is being difficult and saying that I can only deposit cheques made out to my full name (Dr Crack House Ceilidhband) as it matches the name on the bank account. I am not even allowed to use 'H. Ceilidhband'. I see their logic, yet when I asked if I could have it noted that I was known by my middle name, their serious suggestion was that I change my name by dead poll. I think changing my bank would be more constructive.
Is anyone here known by their middle name rather than their first name? Do you ever have this issue? Is there a bank that can cope with such crazy life-altering madness?
Alternatively, if you had to spend 100 quid on someone else, what would you buy for them?

accepted cheques made out to
T.G Badger
T Badger
And a shortened version of my first name.
In fact I think they accepted one that was made out to TG Badgger
If I had 100 quid to spend I would buy some b3tans a drink or two

My middle name isn't as good as my first name.
So First Name ftw.

so my bank account is in the name of al the-geordie. However, I have frequently deposited cheques made out to al geordie, and they've never mentioned it.

you are winning in the middle class stakes. my mother's maiden name was double-barrelled, but not mine.

you are making a terrible assumption there. I tend to gloss over most things. if you were to write a block of text a few lines deep you could quite easily put an insult in there and I wouldn't read it.

I'd ask them what they'd like. Then buy it.
Or a load of porn, for a laugh.
