I've never really had an interest in watching, I've just watched a few minutes on youtube and it hasn't convinced me to join the dark side.

I've never really enjoyed Monty Python either.
Bicycle Repair Man was about 30 years ahead of it's time (see Big Train.)
As for the follow-ups - I can't bear Fawlty Towers but love Ripping Yarns.

I just like the idea of lots of Superheroes unable to fix their bikes.
If you didn't like that you probably won't like Big Train, which was a UK sketch show from the mid-nineties.

Was filmed - for reasons unknown to me - in North Bradford.
Golden Gordon (Barnestoneworth United) was filmed at Hirst Wood, Saltaire, where I quite often walk the hounds.
