Before i say good evening to you all in turn...
i've just read beckjsbx's thread below and i think i might be part of the "gay shift" she refers to! LOL i don't care what a pain in the arse she thinks she can be but she does make me laugh with her Lo-Cal vitriol ;-)
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:11, Reply)
Pff. The gay shift is to all intents and purposes through the night.
Anyway, it's quality not quantity that counts, right?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:12, Reply)
i just checked...she says the gay got 51 posts...
that was me and roota and you and ffreddz and kristine.
LOL it's a week joke but it did make me laugh ;-)
the only thing worse than being talked about?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:18, Reply)
Hah. Logic FAIL.

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:19, Reply)
I think being an illiterate mong could be worse
but hey that's just me.

Oh internet, really. Quality not quantity? To start a thread with 'Today's sweet treat is chocolate chip meringues and there is a variety of tea on the trolley.' is quality? On b3ta?

/falls over
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:21, Reply)

Gloating?

Don't like it? You can stick me on ignore and poof! I'll cease to exist. Problem solved.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:28, Reply)
Oh but what's been said is practically an invite
sadly I must leave now as I have some real life stuff to do. Toodles kids.

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:14, Reply)
Good evening.
I have just finished packing for the weekend and am contemplating what to make for dinner...
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:15, Reply)
Maybe you were right, Cumbrian badger stalwart.
Maybe "never again" was a bit too sweeping.

Evenin'.

Ahoy good ship TD
It's been a long time since you were seen in these waters. Let us fire the cannons and dance something sailorish.

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:27, Reply)
Sorry mate, I'm a bit cross eyed
Knackered. But not too bad on the whole. On a scale of 1-10, quite good.

Yersel'?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:30, Reply)
see below, was just telling Kristine...
been a bit of a smelly day!
and this evening beckjsbx called me gay.
which made me laugh...
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:32, Reply)
Ah, so she did...
Well that's a bit off, isn't it?

You ought not to be calling people names, young lady. It's not the best way to make friends.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:36, Reply)
Friendship:
she's doing it wrong.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:48, Reply)
well that's becky all over, ain't it?
the girl can't help it.
but seriously, do you guys think i'm gay?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:57, Reply)
probably

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:58, Reply)
on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being maybe a bit gay...
and 10 being so gay as to be incalculably gay?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:01, Reply)
I've just read your profile.
Are you a professional chef?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:10, Reply)

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:20, Reply)
No gaying along B69
He can plumb. I can do a fair bit of DIY but plumbing is a dark and mysterious art to me.

Fitting a pipe to another pipe I can do.

Attaching a pipe to another pipe 10 feet away is beyond my capabilities.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:25, Reply)
no gaying? yet he's good with pipes?

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:29, Reply)
i'm very good with my hands!
but i only get a 4?
grrrrrrrrr!
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:30, Reply)
gosh sorry I didn't realise you wanted to be flaming gay
Have an 8.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:32, Reply)
why thank you deary...
that's much better!
*pouts*
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:53, Reply)
I think it's very likely
given that Becky never actually said that you, personally, were gay. This is great internetting.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:39, Reply)
no, she only referred to the thread as the gay shift.
and i posted maybe 50% of the last hour's content.
so...maybe i 'm allowed, for the sake of comedy, to infer...
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:50, Reply)
and yeah, i'm fair enjoying this!
it's a hoot!

i'm built for cooler, northerly climes. edit: you'd freeze here!
the further south i go, the more g&t i need to drink in the shade...
and i guess i'm about 20kg heavier than i want to be :-(
gonna scrounge some kit to set up a wee gym down at that unit of mine. i'm always there at the end of the day, what better time than that to kick the chuff out of a huge bag? grr.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:14, Reply)
they say boxing is a great sport for getting fit
I'm thinking about it...thinking really hard
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:16, Reply)
i work really hard but that's slow, strenuous work.
a big punch-bag, about 5feet tall, full of sand would be the cardio-vascular workout i need. that is, on top of the weekly evening walks i go on with my mate the plasterer. northern fells of the lake district mainly, building up to bigger stuff in time!!
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:27, Reply)
Misapprehension!
UK heat is totally different to most US heat.

UK heat is like Northern Florida/Southern Georgia in the summer.

Even though the temperature isn't numerically high it WEIGHS A TON. It settles on your neck and shoulders and pushes you into the ground.

I was strolling around Alberquerque last year in 38 quite comfortably because it's dry.

I'm making assumptions - where are you?
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:31, Reply)
I live in virginia, it can get very humid or very dry here
and really, comfortable in 38?
your brain must be foggy, thats obscene
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:34, Reply)
nah Kristine, TD speaks only truths, i personally vouch for his character.
it's the humidity, or should that be dampness that's the killer here. all that water on top of you.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:38, Reply)
if you're not wearing scuba gear get out of the ocean

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:44, Reply)
Yes, not a problem.
It's semi-arid - there's very little humidity and I'm a very hardy little chap.

Virginia is roll-through country to me. I've spent a day and night in Ashland, a few hours in Newport News and that's about it.

Spent far more time in the seccestional child, West Virginia.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:42, Reply)
I'd tell you to have a longer visit but I've no idea where you would go
let's be honest here, Virginia is boring
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:46, Reply)
I drew that conclusion myself!
My Ashland time was OK until the sun went down and everyone went to sleep.

I spent an hour trying to find a bar - any bar - in Newport News.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:48, Reply)
LAME
they've closed all the bars around here, we go to west virginia now, the most hopping place is T.G.I. Fridays.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:56, Reply)
Oh Dear.
TGI Fridays is the preferred haunt of the immediately post-pubescent around here. I expect you'd find some daytime O/T contributors in there, with notes from their mums...

Some of us must get up in 6 hours for work so - bedtime.

Night, folks.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 22:09, Reply)
nitey nite

(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 22:21, Reply)
And now for something completely different.

i Demand that this be rectified immediately ;-)

favourite sketch? well i always had a soft spot for the animations...
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 20:59, Reply)
it just seems a bit silly
I've never really had an interest in watching, I've just watched a few minutes on youtube and it hasn't convinced me to join the dark side.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:00, Reply)
Don't feel abnormal
I've never really enjoyed Monty Python either.

Bicycle Repair Man was about 30 years ahead of it's time (see Big Train.)

As for the follow-ups - I can't bear Fawlty Towers but love Ripping Yarns.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:07, Reply)
you're speaking gibberish
now I've got to go look up all this stuff so I know what you're talking about
edit: Bicycle repair man didn't bring the L0lz, maybe I'm broken
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:10, Reply)
Bicycle Repair Man
I just like the idea of lots of Superheroes unable to fix their bikes.

If you didn't like that you probably won't like Big Train, which was a UK sketch show from the mid-nineties.
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:21, Reply)
with you there, brother. ripping yarns. genius.
and python's delinquent grannies!
(, Wed 15 Jul 2009, 21:29, Reply)
A lot of Ripping Yarns
Was filmed - for reasons unknown to me - in North Bradford.

Golden Gordon (Barnestoneworth United) was filmed at Hirst Wood, Saltaire, where I quite often walk the hounds.
