Don't drive
Is my biggest money saving tip. Lessons, car, insurance, repairs and running costs - it's all too much for me!

I like to walk places :) Or use public transport.

If you have the time to go by public transport
And if you never need to go off the beaten track.

And if you never have to carry lots of stuff in the boot.

Then don't drive.

Unfortunately for me, none of the above apply very often. So I drive lots.

me too
even if a bus did go from near my house to my favourite surf spots, I doubt they'd take too kindly to my 9'4" surfboard.

public transport doesn't look fondly on a group of people carrying a drumkit, PA, double bass, guitars etc. to gigs either.

Ah that's where band mates 2, 3 and 4 come in :)
But I agree it can be a pain if you have hobbies where you regularly need to move heavy objects.

Also I'd imagine if you're a parent then driving is fairly essential...

Use the kids to pull a trap?

This is an excellent idea.
Even better if you have twins as the pairings will be equal. Chickenlady should trial this.
