Why is it
that students have their own accent?

Oh, and has anyone noticed how teenage kids nowadays laugh like dorks? When I was that age, I never heard anyone sound like that.

That's what I thought
but I went back to sixth form college a couple of years ago as a mature student, and there were quite a few with the student accent, which doesn't make sense because they were local and i can assure you that they sounded nothing like an 'ull accent.

Estuary English
Check up on the work of David Rosewarne. Use of double negatives, pronunciation taken from the north leading to a weakening of standart accents and a birth of Esuary English...

'aint got none' and 'writ', non standard uses of tenses...
