Which magazine
perfected the art of the amusing caption on the photos? I said it was FHM a good few years back, but my mate disagrees.

I don't actually mean "Which?" magazine.

I gave all mine away a few years ago

FHM started it all off about ten years ago.

It's often been said that captions are the soul of a magazine. They should tell you something you didn't know, make you laugh, or be deleted by the sub editor.

Smash Hits
in the 80s, long before any allegations against him, they captioned a picture of Michael Jackson in a mack with "Hello kids. I'm Uncle Disgusting." and a picture of Nathan from Brother Beyond with "Look at my 'mazing girth!"
