and helped out a 90 year old lady who fell over a step and possibly broke her hip. We called an ambulance and waited with her until they arrived whilst generally keeping her smiling.
Have you done anything nice for someone else today or if you’re not feeling too nice at the moment, have you done something particularly eeeeevil today?

We were driving to Hay On Wye, and we picked up a couple of entirely-dressed-in-beige-canvas hippies who were going there too.

And were talking about "freedom is like a river" quite a lot.
I couldn't be bothered to point out that a river is fairly well-constrained by it's banks.

and then you get a sudden deluge of airborne freedom droplets at which point freedom rises from its banks and fucks up your house.

They were angling for a lift back too.
We politely declined.
They invited us to the pan-pipe concert that they were organising though.

I have trouble with bookshops, and music shops. When confronted with books or cds en masse all knowledge of what I want to buy, or even what I like goes out of my head.

Unless I clearly know what I'm looking for, I end up getting overwhelmed.

I have a couple of lists of books these days so I don't forget.
( , Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:15, Reply)

I have a tendency to forget the names of authors but remember the name of the book, which isn't much help really!

particularly in a second hand shop, and I read too much to be able to buy new books.
my lists at the moment are almost exclusively "as recommended by b3tans"

so I tend to buy off Play.com or Waterstones. B3ta is very helpful for recommendations I have to say!! :)

postage isn't particularly cheap unless you get a bunch of books from the same seller, but I've had books that look new for 1p.
greenmetropolis.com is a good site too.

I'll give greenmetropolis.com a go! Thanks!
I've stopped using Amazon because of their sodding postage costs!! Bloody bum heads!

Not the biggest cunt on /qotw but not exactly a nice guy.

if she immediately spilled that stuff to you. not because of the stuff necessarily, but because she shared it so readily.

And this "hardman" type came out of the cubicle and hit the button on the soap dispenser with some hardman gusto. In a beautiful scene that I wish I could have recorded and played back in slo-mo the soap dispenser detaches from the wall the top flies off and the guy is hit by a perfect arc of 2 litres of liquid soap. I quickly dried my hands and left. It was 10 minutes ago and I'm still giggling.

Brilliant! This is what happens when you use too much gusto!!

However it comes with that smugness of, "I'm handing in my notice in the next week or so, and you're not gonig to be able to replace me, dickface."
( , Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:41, Reply)

because however nice you are to people they inevitably end up being a selfish twatface who doesn't give a tiny rats ass about you.
In the "not answering the question properly" vein I gave Lab the food parcel sent from Ma T yesterday even though I have no food in the house and really wanted to eat it myself

can I do for you to make you your usual chirpy self again? Well, perhaps not chirpy. I'll settle for non-sociopathic.
