There were two men having an argument in the corner shop.
The man behind the counter was from Bangladesh, the shouty customer was Middle-Eastern.

The customer was becoming increasingly rude. But as I left, I heard him saying, 'Just refund me. I very nice, I not be rude.'
I said,' Apart from the racsim.'
He said, 'I not racist. NOT RACIST.'
'Oh really? Even when you just said you thought he served you yesterday because they all look the same?'
'I NO RACIST.'
'You are - you're a racist prick. Fuck off.'

I left him shouting because I was late for work.

there's contant debate here over the proper meaning of "nigger" my favorite argument is "anyone can be a nigger, I'm white but I can be a nigger at times"

Ah the David Howard thing
I remember at the time thinking "He's done nothing wrong" and another person involved in it used a word that in fact did have racial connotations (don't ask me what it was I can't remember) and no-one batted an eyelid.
