Anyone know anything about Leeds?
I have a potential job offer at a translation company, but know naaaaahthing about Leeds itself.

I therefore require The Opinion of the Internet.

I'm thinking things like accommodation costs for a singleton, shops, general "is-it-shit"-ness - the usual things that would influence whether you'd move to a new city or not.

Anyone know much about it?

It's a lot smarter in the city centre now.
It was a cross between paris and a building site for years, but it's a lot better.
And us Yorkshire folk are the best in the world.

Went to a nightclub there once
£15 to get in - then drinks are FREE ALL NIGHT.

The dancefloor revolved slowly. A strange feeling when pished on dirt-cheap Chechnyan alcopops.

We have a club nearby in Oldham.
As much as you can drink, £5.99.
Local plod/media/magistrates/licensing not amused.
Vomiting chavs/chavettes/fighters/lying in puddles of piss loving it!

One of my close friends lived in Leeds for a couple of years.
He absolutely loved it. There's a vibrant social scene, heaps of clubs and live music. He moved to China a few years back :(

Yeah, used to work somewhere similar in Brizzle
£15 entry, free drinks. Used to make as much in tips of a night as I did wages. Lush.
Essentially I'm looking for somewhere to live that has a good nightlife (prefereably a good gay scene, but not too important as I'm a cynical bitter loner when it somes to relationships) and a generally good vibe. I live in Newcastle at the moment, which is ace, but I've reached the limits of my job so actively hunting.
I'll gaz Boss Keloid, thanks for the tip :-)

Last thing I heard,
Leeds had some gays. I think possibly in double figures.
