Cookery time
I've got a hankering for some falafel. Anyone got a tried and tested recipe that they can donate to me?

I'm about as far from vegetarian as you can get
yet sometimes I eat meals that don't have meat in them. Shocking I know!

I'm afraid I can't
remember exactly offhand, but it goes something like:

1 can chickpeas (approx 400g)
half an onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
handful fresh coriander
handful fresh parsley
think there's some ground cumin in there too, prob half teaspoon
ditto for chilli powder, or a small amount of fresh chilli
small amount of breadcrumbs or plain flour to help bind
salt, pepper

Blend like a motherfucker, form in to small balls and shallow fry.

I think you can add lemon juice and tahini (or sesame seeds) if you want as well. I don't usually bother.

BBC food is your friend.
You can't really go wrong with falafal.

I've made some dubious ones before
so was after something someone had definitely tried and found to be good.

Go to M&S and buy it

No
I haven't.

My brothers made falafel once. When they put them in a pan of hot oil to deep fry them, they vanished after fizzing briefly. My brothers were perplexed. The oil was still clear and pure. Where had they gone? They concluded that they had vaporised, and they probably didn't need to worry about dinner that evening as they were breathing in airborne falafelly goodness.
