So, I was in Edinburgh airport recently
and as I walked by I heard a snippet of conversation. An American voice said, "Aw, I never did have one of those deep fried Mars bars".

What conversational soundbites have you eavesdropped on recently?

apparantly
if you like mars bars, then the deep fried variety is quite tasty. It isn't so different from a hot mars bar.....and a bit of batter......hardly life threatening

its the deep fried creme egg i would probably balk at...like a rude pickled egg

A bit of Engrish for you
I overheard an Oriental feller asking for directions to the university. At least, I think he was...his question, specifically, was
"Where is the university existing?"

Either slightly misguided as to the meaning of the word, or trying to engage a stranger in some deeply philosophical conversation...

I like to make up soundbites
for people to hear so when I walk past them it sounds like I'm talking to my friend about something different.

*Edit, just thought of an unintentional one I did, upon coming out of the loo and greeting my (then) gf
"cheers for waiting love, I had a fart I couldn't trust"
The look on a guy who was walking towards me's face was priceless

Older guy stood at a bar chatting to a woman:
"My teeth decayed while I was at work"
I've tried to work out what else he might've said but nothing else fits what I heard. I think he was fucking with evesdroppers.

also overheard in Edinburgh
Two American tourists standing in the street looking up at Edinburgh Castle.
One says to the other "Well gee honey- I cant see the escalator to the castle anywhere."

Heh!
Stereotypical, but humorous.
