Don't get me wrong, that sounds like a shit thing to happen, i'ld hate it, but why do people come on here in apparently normal threads and come up with the sympathy-seeking behavour?

Because they're humanand interaction with other human beings sometimes involves sympathy, sometimes it involves cuntiness too, but I know which I prefer.
