Yes they couldbut the chances are that they'd vaporise half your mouth too. Tooth doesn't give in as readily as the soft tissue surrounding it!

Yesbut eyes are made of soft tissue all the way through.
Lasers might be of use in tooth cavities though.

there's got to be some kind of high tech solution for getting teeth out, or destroying them in placewithout leaving loads of tooth shards or dust in the mouth....

have to be pretty concentrated to work quickly enoughand there are quite a lot of hazards in using it in someones mouth I'd suggest.
