If cows don't want to be eaten then they shouldn't be a) so badly camouflaged and b) so damn tasty, especially rare with a peppercorn sauce.

Or so stupid.

Actually I don't have a problem with eating meat per se, it's more to do with animal husbandry.
No such thing as free rang meat when I became a veggie.

Married a sheep then.

As a born-vegetarian
and having stuck it out for 29 years, I can confidently tell you Quorn would be a reasonable alternative if you were never going to eat meat again. It's nothing compared to the taste and texture of meat, but it's better than nothing.

A check out girl asked me if quorn ham tasted like ham.
I told her I couldn't remember. *laughs*

Of course it tastes like ham
and it is kinda textured similarly. But it's not ham :)

I'm what I call a crap vegetarian.
Fish are cold blooded, so they're fine to eat. Chickens are so ugly and stupid (they don't even have the sense to die when you pull their heads off) so they deserve to be eaten. I'm uncomfortable eating fluffy animals with appealing eyes.

You should try rabbit and Care-Bear.

You can't really empathize with a fish and they are free range till caught.
Hence my return to eating them.

Pescatarian!
When I was vege, I didn't eat fish or eggs either. I'm just making up for lost time now.

You've just reminded me of a Legless classic.
A few years ago, I remember him arguing with a staunch veggie. His point was that since cows are herbivores, then eating beef/steak was a matter of eating recycled grass. He almost had the veggie convinced :)
