He's so hit and miss
Each album seems to have four or five great tracks and the rest is deleteable, so I downloaded every track he's ever done and I'm rating them as I hear them. Anything below four stars goes in the bin.

Edit: get Mos Definite and see how you get on. And if you like his stuff get Talib Kweli's Reflection Eternal too.

I always get a bit scared about downloading stuff of the internet
I worry I'm going to get found and beaten with a stick or something!!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:24, Reply)
I know a lot of people who would be higher up the stick-beating order than you!

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:29, Reply)
That's what people usually tell me
but I am very unlucky when it comes to getting caught at stuff so I worry!!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:33, Reply)
If you get caught
tell them it was DiT, he likes being hit with sticks.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:38, Reply)
Haha that's not a bad idea
although he is one of the main reasons I had to stop my downloading ways - he doesn't approve.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:41, Reply)
Really?
I never thought of him as a man of principles. I've just got incredibly hot for him.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:43, Reply)
Oh yes he's very... principally!? :S
Don't lie, you've always had the hots for him, this fact has just increased the heat!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:45, Reply)
Universal Magnetic
is Mos Def's best tune if you ask me.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:36, Reply)
Why would we ask you
you're all about David Bowie.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:38, Reply)
I know!
He's just brilliant. I love him and his weedy tranny ways.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:40, Reply)
Noted

I also love Body Rock
on which he's joined by Tash from the Alkaholiks and Q Tip.

Fabulous record.

*writes down*
Super stuff!
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:46, Reply)
I can recommend absolutely shitloads of decent hip hop
I heartily recommend Edan. He is incredible. Real low-fi stuff - his second album is full of psychedelic loops and effects: totally original and generally excellent. Also Mr Lif - a talented MC for sure.

Why would I be interested in "decent" hip-hop?
Can't you tell me the EXCELLENT stuff? Where is the David Bowie of the streets, keepin it real?
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 17:30, Reply)
I could tell you,
but you wouldn't like it, Mick - you stick to Big Audio Dynamite....
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 17:41, Reply)
You, me and V should hook up
with a pound of grass and our music collection. That'd be a sweet way to kill a weekend.
(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:49, Reply)
I'd love to

(, Fri 9 Oct 2009, 16:58, Reply)
