After a horrendously manic few months at work I have some time off, woo! and what better way to spend it than a 4 day stag do in Speyside, visiting whisky distilleries, drinking, scoffing food and playing poker until sunday. The only problem is I hate flying
Really really hate flying :(

Try to knock yourself out on the plane. I'm sure you've heard it all before though.
Sounds like a great break - hope you enjoy a well deserved holiday!

is a couple of pints of guinness at the airport with my name on it!
Its the take offs that freak me out, once im up there it is tolerable

It's landings that scare me. Guinnes should smooth anything out though. I wish you a good flight!
Ever tried guinness with a shot of Tia Maria in? Turns it in to a completly different drink, and is so very good (oh, and stronger which helps!)

now that I'm au fait with it through recently flying back and forth to Ireland...
I had one bad experience when I went to Albania - there was so much cloud and turbulence I nearly threw up, so I was really wary of flying to Ireland. But it wasn't nearly so bad and I've even come to like the weird take off crushing sensation. Get a window seat, always, and make sure you're comfortable, and you'll be fine. Look at it as an experience to make the most of as it doesn't happen often.
But the best bit is that when you're up there whatever the weather down below you get sunshine and stunning views.
Come on Halfy - I'm a girly wuss and if I can get over fear of flying you must be able to :)
